This veggie burger “recipe” is a weeknight staple for me. I’m not a fan of veggie burgers that solely taste of red peppers and southwestern flavors, so to have found one that tastes like a regular burger made me very happy.
I make this burger a different way every time, but it’s still just as good each time!

Ingredients:
- beyond cookout classic veggie burger patty
- favorite burger bun, toasted
- Bubbie’s bread and butter pickle chips
- pickled onions
- chick-fil-a sauce
- slice of muenster cheese
- avocado, sliced
- lettuce
- sweet potato fries or regular french fries
Directions:
- Cook the veggie burger and fries according to directions on packaging. We usually cook the burger in the oven, or when it’s nice out, we’ll put it on the grill and the fries go into the air fryer. This is the only part that requires any cooking.
- While the burger and fries are cooking, slice the avocado and prepare all other toppings you’d like. For me, it’s pickles, pickled onions, some type of sauce/dressing, sometimes lettuce, and sliced avocado.
- Check on the fries in the air fryer; these should take about 15 minutes, depending on how many are in there.
- With about 5 minutes left on the burger, toast the burger bun and add the sliced cheese to burger; cook until melted.
- Build your burger! I typically do it in this order:
- bottom burger bun
- a little chick-fil-a sauce
- Bubbie’s pickles
- burger patty
- pickled onions
- lettuce
- avocado
- top burger bun
- I, of course, also have some chick-fil-a sauce on the plate for dipping both the burger and fries.
This recipe is actually a lot of fun because there are an endless amount of combinations you can create depending on the items you have available in your fridge and pantry. Sometimes if I have leftover fried eggplant, I put that on the burger, too! It all depends on my mood and what needs to be used. Have fun with it!
