False Spring, Life Update

Hi everyone!

Today in Raleigh, it’s SO NICE outside, it’s making me feel like I can do anything!
It’s in the low 70s here and I’ve been sitting outside on our patio for the last hour or so. I initially wanted to just sit and start a new book, but after 2 chapters, I decided I just wanted to sit here with my eyes closed while I enjoyed the sun on my skin.

This is honestly just the reminder I needed that I’m not actually lacking in happiness, I’m just lacking sunshine and fresh air 😅🥴 That being said, I need to be better about getting fresh air and sunshine even when it isn’t warm out. Luckily the next couple weeks are looking good. Mostly mid 60s, but I’ll take that over 40s any day.

Today is just a sense of a false spring, but I have the feeling that we’ll be getting an early spring here this year. Hopefully it’s early in SC, too.

That being said… we’re moving to South Carolina! We are officially one month away from moving day and packing while also trying to live full time in our space feels impossible. We started packing a few weeks ago because we both figured we’d be better about packing this time and so far so good. We’re choosing to only pack on the weekends for now since we do use a lot of the stuff we have. We packed most of the oversized kitchen stuff… stand mixer, instant pot, casserole dishes, cutting boards, food processor, etc. It’s just hard to pack when we’re still going to be living here for the next month. We’ve kept out the utensils and plates/bowls, mixing bowls, glasses, pots and pans; all the stuff we use daily. We also packed most of our clothes, too!

If anyone has any advice on how to effectively pack your whole life while still needing to live in the space for a month, I’m open to receiving it. All of our wall decor and stuff like that has been packed, any overstock items we have are packed. It just still seems like so much is left and I’m not sure what the next step is.

I’m hoping tonight will be more purging of the things we no longer need/use, but I do also want to get the furniture that’s falling apart out of the apartment so that we have more space for packed bins/boxes.

Until next time…

xoxo,
Amanda
