***spoiler alert***
Hi readers!
Oh my gosh! This last milestone made me feel all the feels.
Ellie finally tells us what really happened, but not before Chelsey figures out where she is. I was SCARED when Chelsey went by herself, but then grateful Danny didn’t go with her because at the last second, she was saved by the helicopter, which I can only assume is because of Danny.
When I tell you I was SHOCKED at the end result of this book, though… I never would’ve guessed who was behind it or who Serendipity was. I definitely did not see that coming.
I was absolutely pissed when Lydia mentioned Mr. Abbott saying they needed to leave evidence behind. He knew about it and watch Chelsey fall apart over the death of her sister. Absolutely disgusting.
Chelsey remained my favorite character throughout this entire book and I’m honestly so glad she ended up with Noah and selling the family house. She needed to let go of all the grief that came with it. I’m sure it was a huge weight lifted when she finally realized the type of person her father was and the type of person Lydia was morphed into due to everything she’d been through. She was brainwashed, no doubt, but it still made me wonder about her ex, Oscar, and how seemingly easy it was for Lydia to go along with faking her death and blaming Oscar for murder-suicide even though it was West all along.
When we got to the part where Ellie sat with Dr. Fischer and she went through the exercise of saving all the girls from the compound, I literally cried. That was such a sad moment and it really got to me… I’m a sap, what can I say? 🥺
In closing, I’ll leave you with just a few questions:
*Did you have any idea who was behind it?
*Did you guess who Serendipity was?
*How do you feel about the ending?
February’s book choice will be chosen at the in-person book club meeting tomorrow and will be announced shortly thereafter. Feel free to send in suggestions for books to read in future months! As always, you can join on Fable, Goodreads, or Bookclubs. 😊
