January 13th Milestone

***spoiler alert***

Hi readers! Can you believe we’re already halfway through the month?!

This next milestone has me feeling like I don’t want to put the book down because I just NEED to know what’s going to happen. It’s a similar feeling to We Used To Live Here, which we read back in September, except this time, I’m remembering to breathe LOL

We’re continuing to learn more about our characters, Chelsey and Ellie, but I still feel like important information is missing and I’m curious to continue reading to see if we’ll ever know the full picture. With each of Ellie’s chapters, we do learn a little more about her and the situation she was in, but I’m left wondering what happened to the other girls she was with. I’m also curious about how she ended up in the woods where she was found and I’m wondering where she came from. Where were they kept? Who’s the little girl in the drawing Ellie made? Did one of the girls have a baby or was she a newly taken girl younger than Ellie and the others? So. Many. Questions.

From the moment I learn they’re making an arrest, I’m suspicious. I’m not totally convinced this is the person responsible, but I guess I’ll find out in the coming chapters. Do you think this is the person responsible?

One thing I don’t love about this book, though, is the amount of times they talk about vomit. I have a phobia, so reading about it is triggering that for me, but I’m still pushing through it. I just think it’s a topic that doesn’t ever need to be discussed (or shown on TV) because it’s disgusting. I’d rather see blood and guts honestly.

For this next milestone, I want you to think about these things:

*Are you finding it difficult to continue reading, OR are you struggling to put the book down?
*Is the character you chose as your favorite in the first milestone still your favorite? Why or why not?
*Did you predict anything correctly thus far?
*How do you want the book to end?
*How do you think the book will end?

As always, I’m looking forward to your responses 🙂 Join weekly on FableGoodreads, or Bookclubs.
