Hi readers!
If you’ve made it this far, you’ve finished the book.
How did you feel about the ending?
The ending was nothing like I thought it was going to be. I felt a tad disappointed that it ended when it did because I’d love to see what happens next…
*What happens with Eve? Does she escape, or does she get released?
*What happens with Thomas? Does he finally meet his match and get killed for pulling this with another person/family?
*What happens to the house itself? Does it get renovated, knocked down, burned to the ground, perhaps?
These are all the questions I have after finishing this book, BUT I honestly could not read it fast enough. I also felt like there was an added layer of confusion (probably done on purpose by this author) about the layout of this house.
The little subchapters in between also had me thinking that the outcome was going to be different than it actually was. I was thinking “yes! They’re finally going to get the guy that’s doing all these things to these poor people” and “Woah, Eve isn’t the first person to think there’s a hospital hallway there when there really isn’t/can’t be.
How Eve ended up was my least favorite part of this whole thing. I’m sad her and Charlie didn’t end up together in a different house or something. I also didn’t like the sly message from Thomas to Eve, sliding her the envelope before walking away. That bastard! LOL
This final milestone had my jaw on the floor finishing the last page. My husband looked at me and could tell I was thinking “WTF” just based on the face I was making!
As always, you can read along with Feel Freda Read on Fable, Goodreads, or Bookclubs.
