This 3rd milestone is to the end of chapter 44.
This book is not at all what I expected it to be. It’s a lot of back and forth, the writing style isn’t my favorite, and I’m just waiting for the entire thing to come together…
“And it dawns on me then that I must really want to live. And it surprises me” (p. 162). For me, this quote sums up basically the entirety of the book up to that point.
We learn a lot about the main character’s thinking, her relationships with the people in her life (as well as with herself) and her views of the world around her. We also learn about her struggles with addiction, love, and self-identity.
Hopefully in the next milestone of this book, we learn how it all comes together.
