Garlic bread is a staple in my house. We have garlic bread a lot. I love having it with pasta dishes, of course, but we’ve also had it with salads, chicken piccata, eggplant parm, soup… the list goes on LOL
I know garlic bread seems pretty simple, but the way I make it has been my favorite way so far.
In terms of bread, you can use any bread you’d like to. Baguette has been my favorite, but sometimes we only have Italian bread on hand, so we’ll use a few slices of that.
Ingredients:
- bread
- softened butter (2 sides of baguette is about half a stick)
- dried parsley, about 1/2 tablespoon
- minced garlic (or garlic powder)
- dried chives, optional
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 400º F.
- Slice the baguette in half long ways and place on a baking sheet.
- Mix softened butter, as much garlic as you desire, and dried parsley (about 1/4 tablespoon, or however much you’d like) in a bowl and stir until well combined.
- Spread butter mixture onto both sides of the baguette, top with dried chives, and bake for about 10 minutes.
- Broil at 525º F for about 5 minutes until golden brown.
- Optional step: top with your favorite shredded cheese before putting it in the oven and broil until cheese is brown.
