Hi lovelies!
I have created a spreadsheet based on every book I own to get me through 2023.
My goal is to read one book per week, even though I know that’s a bit of a stretch, but even if I get through a couple books per month, that’s still more than I’m doing right now.
I’m really trying to be better with time management and I think time blocking will become my new best friend in the coming weeks leading up to the new year.
I’ve decided I want to be “that person”. You know, the one that sets goals and achieves them. The one that gets a jump start on New Years’ Resolutions because “I’m on top of my stuff”. I’ve recently made some changes around the way I do things around the apartment. For example, I finally got the closet in order (with the exception of the things I need to hang, but I’m waiting on hangers to be delivered from Amazon…) and it makes it so much easier to get ready in the morning.
I was able to put a dresser in there for all my winter clothes and on top of that dresser, I put all my perfumes, my deodorant, and my jewelry. It is so easy to get ready now because everything is in one place.
I put a dry erase board on our fridge so we can write things down for a grocery list and already, I’m noticing a difference because as soon as we run out of something, I write it down. Now all I have to do is look at it and place the order on my phone. Super easy!
Time blocking will allow me to read because I’ll be setting time aside every day to read. It’s not that I “don’t have time” now to read, but more so the fact that I don’t prioritize it.
We all have the same 24 hours in a day, so why is it that some people get SO MUCH done, while others (me) are saying there isn’t enough time in the day? Priorities. I’m on the verge of setting my priorities straight because, let’s be honest, reading is more important than watching TV. I’m going to make it a priority to read.
And with that, comes the “Book Club”.
I’ve already tried starting a book club, but it didn’t take, so I’m going to try again.
Books will be chosen by members of the book club. Book club members will be responsible for acquiring ~and reading~ said books. And lastly, there will be a monthly virtual meeting to discuss the book and to pick the book for the following month.
I’m in need of some community, so help me build one! Fill out the registration form below if you’re interested in joining the book club.
Talk soon, xoxo.
